Yim Si-wan, SEORINA Grow Closer in 'Love in Disguise' Episode 4
The leads of tvN's "Love in Disguise" are finally starting to trust each other. The drama's fourth episode, which aired on Oct. 27, also gave the show its best ratings so far in the Seoul metropolitan area.
According to Nielsen Korea, the episode drew an average of 6% nationwide, with a peak of 7.1%. In the Seoul metropolitan area, it averaged 5.7% and peaked at 7.1%, setting a new high for the series.
The episode opened with Kang Jae-hee (played by SEORINA) growing suspicious of Yoon Yi-jun (played by Yim Si-wan) after she was caught in an accident with a falling chandelier. After a string of incidents at the mansion, she decided he was hiding something from her. Yoon Yi-jun shut her down.
"I'm warning you," he said. "Don't cross a line you have no business crossing."
Kang then met with her teammates on the detective task force and found a new lead. A video sent in by a tipster showed Yoon Yi-jun arguing with his secretary, Han Eun-young (played by Jung Yoo-min), who has since died. The same footage also showed Yoon Na-jung (played by Park Ah-in), the second child of the family that runs Taegang Group. Then traces of herbicide were found in the milk Yoon Yi-jun had been about to drink. The task force reopened the case, now considering that he may not be the killer after all.
With attacks that seemed aimed at Yoon Yi-jun piling up, Kang paid closer attention to his safety. A housekeeper told her that the milk he drinks is bought for him by Kim Si-hyun (played by Kim Jung-hyun), a lawyer on Taegang Group's legal team. That raised questions for Kang. She started looking into Kim Si-hyun, even asking how he and Yoon Yi-jun first became close.
Kim Si-hyun, it turned out, had his own moves to make. He met privately with Yoon Na-jung and also briefed Taegang Group chairman Yoon Tae-sik (played by Choi Jin-ho) on matters related to a shareholders' meeting. Yoon Na-jung, for her part, brought up the murder case tied to Yoon Yi-jun when she spoke with her father. She urged him to be careful about choosing a successor.
The family's plans shifted at a family gathering. Yoon Tae-sik suddenly tore up a contract that would have handed shares to Yoon Yi-jun. He then said control of the company would go to whoever proved themselves through business results. Yoon Yi-jun, who had been the clear favorite to take over, was suddenly on shaky ground.
Back at the mansion, Yoon Yi-jun and Kang shared drinks in a room at the far end of the second floor. The room still holds traces of a female hero Yoon Yi-jun admires. There, the two finally voiced the feelings they had been holding back.
Yoon Yi-jun blamed himself, saying he had wanted to protect someone but had failed to protect anyone. Kang pushed back and asked whether he hadn't protected her from danger. She realized he had been cold to her on purpose, to keep her out of harm.
During a game of truth, Kang asked him directly. "You didn't kill Secretary Han, did you?"
"Right," he answered. Kang, looking relieved, fell back and passed out.
The night didn't end there. A drunk Kang began running around the room. When Yoon Yi-jun tried to stop her, their lips collided. The episode closed on Yoon Yi-jun frozen in shock after their accidental kiss.
For a drama built on suspicion, it was the first time the two leads had let their guard down around each other. With a murder case reopened and a fight over the family company now in the open, that new trust may be tested soon.
