ILLIT Proves It's Not Just "Magnetic" as B-Sides Hit Spotify Milestones
K-pop girl group ILLIT continues to rack up Spotify milestones, this time with tracks from its debut EP.
According to Spotify data released on Oct. 30, "Midnight Fiction," a track from the group's first EP, "SUPER REAL ME," had accumulated 100,034,271 streams as of Oct. 28. It became ILLIT's ninth song to surpass 100 million streams on the platform.
Another track from the same EP, "Lucky Girl Syndrome," surpassed 200 million streams on Oct. 25, becoming the group's fifth song to reach the milestone.
The achievements show that ILLIT's debut EP continues to attract listeners beyond its breakout title track, "Magnetic." More than two years after its release, the album's other songs are still drawing steady streams.
"Midnight Fiction" is a modern pop song that combines dreamy melodies with psychedelic rhythms. Its lyrics capture the imaginative thoughts that emerge during a sleepless night.
"Lucky Girl Syndrome" takes a brighter approach. The dance-pop track features a playful whistle melody and an upbeat rhythm, delivering a positive message about finding happiness in everyday moments. ILLIT also promoted the song as a follow-up track, drawing attention with choreography in which the members point to themselves with their thumbs.
The group has built an extensive list of streaming achievements. "Magnetic" became the fastest debut song by a K-pop group to reach 900 million streams on Spotify. "Cherish (My Love)," "Tick-Tack" and "NOT CUTE ANYMORE" have each surpassed 200 million streams, while "Billyeoon Goyangi (Do the Dance)," "jellyous" and "It's Me" have all exceeded 100 million.
ILLIT's latest release is also performing well on the charts. The group's fifth EP, "BREAK EVEN," ranked near the top of major album charts in South Korea and Japan on its first day of release.
Its title track, "You're Under Arrest" (Chepohagesseo), entered Melon's Top 100 at No. 72 before climbing to No. 5 within four days. The music video also reached No. 5 on YouTube's global Daily Top Music Videos chart dated Oct. 27.
The latest milestones highlight the continued popularity of ILLIT's earlier releases alongside the chart performance of its new music.
