RESCENE on "Small-Agency Miracle": "We Want People to Think of Miracles Again"
K-POP girl group RESCENE has expressed gratitude for being called a "small-agency miracle" and shared its ambition to become a group listeners can always count on for good music.
The five-member group (Woni, Liv, Minami, May and Zena) held a media showcase at Blue Square Woori WON Banking Hall in Seoul's Hannam-dong on Nov. 3 to mark the release of its fourth mini album, "PULSE."
RESCENE is signed to The Muze Entertainment, a small entertainment agency. The group gained attention earlier this year after a video featuring its members on Woni's YouTube channel went viral, drawing new interest in its music.
"LOVE ATTACK," released in August 2024, climbed back up the charts and reached No. 1 on Melon's Top 100 nearly two years after its release. Melon is one of South Korea's major music streaming platforms.
The chart resurgence earned RESCENE the nickname "small-agency miracle," highlighting the group's success outside the industry's major entertainment companies.
"Miracles don't happen easily, so we're grateful that people have called us a miracle," Woni said at the showcase. "We want to become a group that makes people think of the word 'miracle' once again."
She also credited the group's fans for its success.
"The fans who have stood by us through it all are what keep RESCENE going," she said.
Following its chart resurgence, RESCENE released a remake of KARA's "Pretty Girl." However, "PULSE" marks the group's first comeback with original music since the breakthrough. The question now is whether the group can build on that success with its latest release.
"A lot of people have been looking forward to our new album," Woni said. "We want to show a new side of RESCENE through both our performances and our music. I really want people to say RESCENE is a group they can always count on for good music."
Liv shared a similar goal.
"I want to hear people say RESCENE is still a group they can always count on for good music," she said.
"PULSE" contains five tracks and explores the moment a song shared with someone can return as a source of strength.
The title track, "With," captures the emotions of finally meeting someone you have long waited to see after a long time. The song opens with a gentle melody before building into a powerful chorus, evoking the feeling of a heart beating faster.
"PULSE" was released on Nov. 3 at 6 p.m. KST through major music streaming platforms.
