Park Min-young Shares Kiss Scene Tips

Actress Park Min-young is opening up about her iconic kiss scenes and her fame overseas ahead of her new drama, "Nine to Six" (Nain Tu Sikseu). She and actor Yook Sungjae will appear as guests on the fourth episode of the SBS variety show "The Great Hang-jun" (Geojang Hangjun), which airs on Nov. 5 at 9 p.m. KST.

Park previously underwent a significant weight loss transformation for her role in her previous project. With the premiere of "Nine to Six" coming up, her appearance is drawing attention again.

On the episode, Song Eun-yi highlights Park's reputation as a leading romantic comedy actress. "Compilations of Park Min-young's kiss scenes are getting huge view counts on YouTube," Song says.

Jang Hang-jun responds with a word he makes up on the spot. "She's a kissist," he says, a mash-up of "kiss" and "artist."

Park smiles and shares a few tips for filming a good kiss scene.

"When you shoot a kiss scene, you shouldn't press down on the lips too hard," she says. "The emotion has to go along with it."

Yook brings up a long-running joke about the actress. "There's a saying about 'riding the Park Min-young bus,'" he says. The phrase refers to the belief that male actors who worked opposite Park went on to big success.

"I got on that big bus too, the one with 40 people already on it," Yook says.

He also shares behind-the-scenes stories from filming a kiss scene for "Nine to Six," teasing his chemistry with Park.

Park talks about how far her popularity has spread. "People recognize me everywhere overseas," she says.

After her drama "Marry My Husband" reached No. 2 worldwide on Amazon Prime Video, she says she has to wear a mask wherever she goes abroad.

Jang, who dreams of becoming a global "maestro" himself, reportedly lit up as she told the story. For Park, the moment shows how a single streaming hit can turn a Korean rom-com lead into a face fans know around the world.
