ENA Drama 'Crash 2' Adds NCT's Jisung to Six-Member Squad
Actors Lee Min-ki, Kwak Sun-young, Heo Sung-tae, Lee Ho-cheol and Moon Hee are back on the case, and this time the crimes are bigger. Jisung of K-POP group NCT joins them as the newest member of the team.
The production team behind "Crash 2", a new Monday-Tuesday drama on the cable channel ENA, released stills on Nov. 6. The photos show the traffic crime investigation team T.C.I at work. They also give a first look at the new six-member lineup, with Jisung working alongside the returning cast.
The show is the follow-up to "Crash," which aired in 2024. The first season drew attention for its traffic crime investigations and car chase scenes. It was a hit, reaching No. 2 on ENA's all-time drama ratings list at the time.
This season covers a lot more ground. T.C.I started out as the traffic crime team at Namgang Police Station. Now it has been reorganized into a regional investigation unit under the police's National Office of Investigation, putting it in charge of traffic crimes across the country. Bigger cases also mean tougher opponents, and the team faces criminals who are more organized and careful than before.
In the stills, Cha Yeon-ho (played by Lee Min-ki), Min So-hee (Kwak Sun-young), Jung Chae-man (Heo Sung-tae) and Woo Dong-gi (Lee Ho-cheol) look into a scene that seems to be more than a simple traffic accident. Eo Hyun-kyung (Moon Hee) and rookie Ji Dae-se (Jisung) join the search for clues.
Ji Dae-se is a junior officer in the traffic division at Namgang Police Station, where he's known as "the idol." He's cheerful and a little quirky, and he has strong martial arts skills. One photo catches him leaning out of a shattered bus window.
The rest of the team is experienced. Ji Dae-se is hard to predict. How he shakes up the group is one of the bigger questions heading into the new season.
The returning cast members play the same characters from the first season. Lee Min-ki's Cha Yeon-ho breaks cases open with sharp analysis, catching even the smallest clues. Kwak Sun-young is back in action as Min So-hee, who brings martial arts skills and speed on the move.
Heo Sung-tae returns as Jung Chae-man, the founder of T.C.I, who tracks a new case after losing his wife. Lee Ho-cheol's Woo Dong-gi can tell a car's model just by its sound and knows how to break down information. Moon Hee continues as Eo Hyun-kyung, who is good at gathering information and has trained in several martial arts.
"Crash 2" premieres on Nov. 16 at 10 p.m. KST. It will also be available on KT's Genie TV and Disney+.
For a series that built its name on car chases, the jump from one police station to the whole country gives T.C.I a lot more road to cover.
