Where Did ZB1's Tae Rae Go? A Hidden Gem in Korea
Kim Tae Rae of K-pop boy group ZEROBASEONE visited Mungyeong, North Gyeongsang Province, to introduce the city's tourist attractions. During the trip, he crossed a suspension bridge, dressed as a Joseon-era king and went paragliding.
Tae Rae appeared on the Korean tourism program "Hidden Trip 2," which aired on Nov. 7. Organized by South Korea's Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and overseen by Arirang TV, the program introduces tourist destinations, local food and activities across the country.
In the Mungyeong episode, Tae Rae explored historical sites and took part in outdoor activities. His first stop was Bongmyeongsan Suspension Bridge, where he enjoyed the thrill of walking across the bridge despite its height.
He then visited Mungyeongsaejae Open Set, a filming location for Korean historical dramas. There, Tae Rae dressed as both a king and a seonbi, a traditional Korean scholar. He wore a red royal robe to portray the king before changing into a scholar's robe and exploring the set while sharing stories about its history.
At Gomosanseong Fortress, he introduced a local legend associated with the historic site.
Tae Rae also sampled local food, enjoying a meal prepared with ingredients from Mungyeong while describing the flavors and characteristics of the dishes. He wrapped up the trip with a paragliding experience, taking in views of Mungyeong from the sky.
The Mungyeong episode followed Tae Rae's earlier visits to Buyeo in South Chungcheong Province and Yeosu in South Jeolla Province.
In Buyeo, he explored Gungnamji Pond, Baekje Cultural Complex and Garimseong Fortress. In Yeosu, he took an island tour and visited Yi Sun-sin Square and Gukdong Port Waterfront Park. Throughout the series, he introduced local attractions and participated in activities unique to each region.
Outside the travel program, Tae Rae also works as a DJ on MBC FM4U's radio show "ZEROBASEONE's Close Friend," connecting with listeners every week. He also hosts the music podcast "Suseok Yeonguhoe" (Suseok Research Club), where he discusses music and related topics.
