K-POP girl group ILLIT is gearing up for its next move in Japan. The group's agency, BELIFT LAB, said ILLIT will release its second Japanese single, "I Got Your Back," in July.

The full single drops digitally on July 26, with the physical release following three days later on July 29.

"I Got Your Back" centers on the story of young narrators working through their worries and growing up along the way. The single features three tracks in total, including "Sunday Morning," the opening theme for the second season of the TV anime "The Princess of Torment," which premiered in January.

The release is also being produced as a collaboration with the Japanese fashion magazine "FRUiTS." The agency says the partnership is designed to bring ILLIT's signature mood, shaped by members Yunah, Minju, Moka, Wonhee and Iroha, into the Japanese market through both music and styling.

ILLIT broke the news on stage during its first solo tour in Japan, "ILLIT LIVE 'PRESS START♥︎' in JAPAN," held on June 13 and 14 at the Aichi Prefectural Art Theater. "We're releasing our second Japanese single, 'I Got Your Back,' in July," the group told the crowd. "Let's make the best summer together with ILLIT."

The Aichi shows sold out down to the seats with limited views. Across the two nights, ILLIT performed 23 songs back to back. The group now moves on to the Orix Theater in Osaka for shows on June 20 and 21.

ILLIT's fourth mini-album title track, "It's Me," has spent more than a month in the upper ranks of major Japanese charts, including Oricon, Billboard Japan and LINE Music. The streak underscores how quickly the group has built a foothold in one of the world's largest music markets, setting the stage for the summer push around its next single.
