UNIS Eyes Japan With First Mini Album Due July 31
K-pop girl group UNIS is set to make its official Japanese debut this summer. The group's agency, F&F Entertainment, announced on Tuesday that UNIS will release its first Japanese mini-album on July 31.
The EP marks the eight-member group's first full release in Japan. UNIS is made up of Jin Hyun-joo, Nana, Gehlee Dangca, Kotoko, Bang Yoon-ha, Elysia, Oh Yun-ah, and Lim Seo-won.
UNIS has already been building a base in Japan through original Japanese-language singles. The group previously released "MoshiMoshi" and "mwah…," using both tracks to widen its reach with local fans before stepping into a formal album rollout.
The new mini-album will feature five tracks in total. Alongside fresh material, the project will also include "MoshiMoshi" and "mwah…," giving Japanese listeners a single package that pulls together UNIS's work in the market so far. The members are leading the campaign with a new song built around a bright, refreshing sound.
UNIS plans to meet fans through a range of local promotions tied to the release.
The move continues a familiar pattern for K-pop acts treating Japan as a core second market rather than a side stop. For a group still early in its career, a Japanese EP is both a commercial expansion and a way to lock in a dedicated fan base in one of the genre's most important overseas territories.
