A woman who repeatedly visited the home of BTS member Jungkook and unlawfully entered the residential property has been given a suspended prison sentence by a Seoul court.

According to legal sources on Tuesday, the Seoul Western District Court sentenced the woman, a Brazilian national, to one year in prison, suspended for two years. The ruling was handed down on May 8 by Judge Park Ji-won.

The woman was charged with violating South Korea's anti-stalking law and trespassing after repeatedly visiting Jungkook's residence in Seoul's Yongsan District over about a month, beginning on Dec. 7, 2025.

Court records showed that she visited the residence 22 times during that period. She allegedly waited near the property, hoping to see the singer, repeatedly rang the doorbell and left items outside the home. On Dec. 12 alone, she rang the intercom more than 130 times.

The following day, she entered the residential property through a side gate after seeing a food delivery rider use the same entrance. She was arrested that day and warned by the police not to approach Jungkook or his home.

Authorities later issued an emergency restraining order prohibiting her from coming within 100 meters of either the singer or his residence. However, prosecutors said she violated the order by returning to the area in January and leaving photographs and printed materials near the property.

In explaining the sentence, the court said the defendant continued the stalking behavior even after receiving police warnings and failed to comply with the emergency protective order. The court also noted that Jungkook had requested strict punishment.

At the same time, the judge considered several mitigating factors. The court said the woman appeared to have acted in an attempt to express her feelings to Jungkook rather than to harm him. It also noted that she did not enter the singer's private living space and had already spent about three months in detention.

The court added that she is expected to be deported from South Korea once the ruling becomes final, making the possibility of reoffending relatively low.

The case is not the first stalking incident involving Jungkook. Last year, another woman was investigated after allegedly attempting to enter his home by repeatedly entering the door code on the day he was discharged from the military.
