BOYNEXTDOOR Scores Sixth Straight Billboard 200 Entry With 'HOME'
K-POP boy group BOYNEXTDOOR has notched its highest-ever placement on Billboard's main album chart. The group's first full-length album, "HOME," debuts at No. 16 on the Billboard 200, according to the chart dated June 27, which Billboard announced on Tuesday.
The new peak marks a 24-spot jump from the group's previous best. Its last release, "The Action," landed at No. 40.
"HOME" also took No. 1 on the World Albums chart and rose to No. 2 on Top Album Sales, which tracks weekly physical album sales in the U.S. That figure beats the No. 3 mark set by "No Genre," BOYNEXTDOOR's previous high on the sales chart. The group placed No. 28 on the Artist 100 as well.
With "HOME," BOYNEXTDOOR has now landed six consecutive albums on the Billboard 200. The run started with the first EP "WHY.." at No. 162, followed by "HOW?" at No. 93, "19.99" at No. 40, "No Genre" at No. 62, "The Action" at No. 40, and now "HOME" at No. 16. The trajectory shows a steady climb across releases rather than a single breakout moment.
All the members took part in writing for the album, which draws on what they experienced and felt before and after debut. Reaching a career high with such a personal record gives the milestone added weight.
The album is performing strongly at home and across Asia, too. "HOME" sold 1,085,715 copies in its first week on Hanteo, making it BOYNEXTDOOR's fourth straight million-seller. It also topped Circle Chart's weekly album chart. In Japan, it hit No. 1 on Billboard Japan's Top Albums Sales and Hot Albums charts, as well as Oricon's Weekly Albums Ranking and Weekly Combined Albums Ranking.
