ONF Expands Promotion Across Variety, Radio and Live Stages After Comeback
K-POP boy group ONF is running a full promotion cycle across variety shows, radio, and live stages after its latest comeback. The group released its second studio album Part 2, "ONF:MY SELF," on May 17.
Since the release, ONF has moved through a wide mix of programs. The group appeared on KBS1's "TV Show Jinpummyeongpum" and web variety series including "Secret Transfer Student," "Silence of the Idols," and "Hanbyeol Cafe."
Radio played a big part in the run. ONF visited SBS Power FM's "Cultwo Show" and "Wendy's Young Street," KBS Cool FM's "Volume Up with OH MY GIRL's Hyojung," and MBC FM4U's "Close Friends Broadcasting," among others.
The group also pushed the title track "Open The Door" through a series of live stages. Members performed the choreography on "Just Dance" and "K-POP Up Chart Show," and delivered a band-sound live version on "It's Live." They also produced "Special Stage," a self-made music-show-style content piece.
The numbers came in strong. "ONF:MY SELF" passed the group's own first-week sales record on the Hanteo chart, a domestic tally that tracks physical album sales in South Korea. It reached No. 52 on the iTunes Worldwide Albums chart and cracked the top 10 on iTunes album charts in Japan, Hong Kong, the Philippines, and Saudi Arabia.
Japan responded quickly. The album hit No. 1 on the Tower Records Japan K-POP Daily chart on May 18 and landed at No. 4 on the weekly chart in the third week of June. At home, "Open The Door" topped the Bugs real-time chart right after release, and the music video has crossed 12 million views on YouTube.
This album marks the group's first release since moving to KI Entertainment. Setting a personal-best first-week sales figure on the first project under the new label points to steady momentum for ONF as it heads into the rest of the year.
