SEVENTEEN's V8 Unveils First 'singasong' Stage on 'M Countdown'
SEVENTEEN's V8, which consists of THE8 and Vernon, gave their first ever televised performances as a duo for "singasong" and "rat race" on Mnet's "M Countdown" on July 2.
Their performance was inspired by a retro science-fiction concept which was accompanied by dancers on the stage. Both THE8 and Vernon showcased an energetic choreography of “singasong” alongside a souffle dance serving as the key point for the performance.
V8 followed with "rat race," presenting a contrasting stage built around the song's narrative. The performance used synchronized choreography and a cube-inspired stage concept to visualize the track's themes, ending with dancers gathered inside a large cube beneath a beam of light.
The performances come as V8 continues promotions for its debut mini album, "V8," which features collaborations with producers including Mechatok, KIRARA, and Dylan Brady.
According to the agency, the album surpassed 500,000 copies sold within three days of release and has also performed well on international charts, including QQ Music's Digital Best-Selling Albums chart in China. Meanwhile, "singasong" has gained traction online through its shuffle dance challenge, reaching No. 3 on Instagram's Trending Audio chart.
V8 will continue promotions with performances on KBS2's "Music Bank" and MBC's "Show! Music Core" before launching "2026 VERNON THE 8 [V8] LIVE" with concerts in Goyang on July 11–12 and Hong Kong on July 17–19.
