BTS Jungkook, Risenne member Minami immortalized on social media

BTS member Jungkook gave a public shout-out to Minami, a member of the rising girl group RESCENE. The signal boost tied one of K-pop's biggest stars to one of the season's fastest-spreading memes.

On July 3, Jungkook shared a short "Yaho" message on his Instagram Story along with a video link.

The link led to a clip of Minami performing Jungkook's solo track "Still With You" on the YouTube channel "It's Live." RESCENE has been drawing attention for the so-called "Geoje Yaho!" meme, which has taken off online in recent weeks. Watching the moment's most-talked-about performer cover his own song, Jungkook added emojis meaning "the best" and "amazing" to cheer Minami on.

On the back of the "Yaho" meme, RESCENE was recently named a promotional ambassador for the city of Geoje.

Meanwhile, BTS kicked off its European tour with shows in Madrid, Spain, on June 26 and 27. The group continued the run in Brussels, Belgium, on July 1 and 2.
