A new girl group blending K-POP and Japanese entertainment influences is set to make its debut this summer.

GIRLS ARCHIVES, a five-member group created by HYBE NEB and Japanese entertainment company INCS toenter, will release its pre-debut digital single "Reborn" on Aug. 7 through Universal Music Japan. The song will also serve as the theme song for the Netflix film "THE RIBBON HERO," which premieres worldwide on Aug. 8.

The project stands out for combining real-life members with 2.5D animated characters, building a story that unfolds through both music and visuals. Inspired by the idea of preserving memories, the group's concept links its real-world activities with a fictional universe designed alongside illustrator LAM.

The lineup features Korean members Sojeong and Seoyeon, as well as Japanese members Yuisa, Hinari and Ena. Several members are already familiar to K-POP fans after competing on survival shows such as "R U Next?" and "The Debut: Dream Academy," making this their long-awaited debut.

The announcement has drawn attention online, particularly from fans who followed the members on those programs. Many have expressed excitement about seeing the contestants debut together. In contrast, others have highlighted the group's unusual concept and the fact that its first release is tied to a Netflix film.

Although the group has yet to debut officially, GIRLS ARCHIVES has already generated early interest through its cross-media approach and lineup. More details about the project are expected to be revealed following the release of "Reborn" next month.
