Award-Winning Rookies IDID Return Fans' Love with 'Attent!on'
K-POP boy group IDID has closed out a six-week promotional run and picked up a rookie award at the 35th Seoul Music Awards. The seven-member group finished the stretch with "Attent!on," a follow-up track released at the request of fans after the group's title song "FLY!" cycle wrapped.
IDID, made up of Jang Yong-hoon, Kim Min-jae, Park Won-bin, Chu Yu-chan, Park Sung-hyun, Baek Jun-hyuk and Jung Se-min, performed "Attent!on" across the major weekly music shows. The run started on Mnet's "M Countdown" on the 2nd and continued through KBS 2TV's "Music Bank," MBC's "Show! Music Core" and SBS's "Inkigayo." The song is a B-side from the group's single album "FLY!"
"Attent!on" was first unveiled at the group's debut fan concert in April. Where the title track "FLY!" leaned into a bold, high-energy sound, "Attent!on" plays up the melody and shows a more relaxed side of the group. When "FLY!" dropped in late May, fans kept asking for a B-side stage. The team answered by rolling out "Attent!on" as a follow-up once title-track promotions ended.
For the follow-up stages, IDID went with everyday, casual styling. The performance builds from an opening of claps and playful ad-libs into the hook, with a set of moves designed to bring out the song's easy mood.
Rapper Park Sung-hyun's verse anchors the track, and choreography led by Park Won-bin and Park Sung-hyun carries its rhythm. Hats, belts and other props factor into the styling, while the LED backdrop mixes amusement-park imagery with bold typography to round out the stage design.
With a rookie prize at the 35th Seoul Music Awards now on the shelf, IDID is set to shift focus to self-produced content and fan communication while preparing its next album.
