Red Velvet Returns With Reality Show After Four Years

K-pop girl group Red Velvet is bringing back its solo reality series after a four-year break. The group's agency confirmed that "Level Up Project Season 6" will premiere on August 14 at 8 p.m. KST on Mnet and Wavve.

"Level Up Project" first launched in 2017 as a standalone reality show built around the five members. A group poster teasing the new season went up on Red Velvet's official social media on the 15th.

The upcoming season is the first since Season 5 aired in 2022. It follows Red Velvet, now celebrating its 12th debut anniversary, as the members take a day off together and take on team missions.

The new run is made up of three episodes. It will air weekly on Fridays at 8 p.m. KST through Mnet and the streaming platform Wavve. Each episode will also become available on Red Velvet's official YouTube channel one week after its broadcast.

The reality series lands just ahead of a new album. Red Velvet releases its summer EP "Velvet Summer" on August 3. The record carries five tracks in total, led by title song "Surfin' Boy," and drops the same day at 6 p.m. KST across major streaming services.

The back-to-back rollout points to a full summer for Red Velvet, pairing new music with the kind of extended fan-facing content that has become central to how veteran K-pop groups keep their audiences close.
