Billboard Names KiiiKiii's '404 (New Era)' the Best K-POP Song of 2026 So Far
KiiiKiii is building momentum ahead of its August comeback after "404 (New Era)" was named No. 1 on Billboard's staff list of "The 25 Best K-Pop Songs of 2026 (So Far)."
The ranking, published by Billboard on July 15, placed the group's January title track at the top of the publication's mid-year roundup.
Released as the title track of KiiiKiii's second mini album "Delulu Pack," "404 (New Era)" combines UK house and garage influences with lyrics inspired by the internet error message "404 Not Found." Rather than treating the phrase as a symbol of failure, the song reimagines it as a declaration of freedom beyond existing systems.
Explaining its selection, Billboard wrote that KiiiKiii "completely flips one of the internet's most familiar error codes on its head," adding that the group doesn't simply imagine a "new era," but invites listeners into it through the song's lyrics and concept. The publication also noted that while many artists sing about the arrival of a new era, KiiiKiii presents itself as leading it.
Since debuting in 2025, KiiiKiii has steadily expanded its global profile. Earlier this year, "404 (New Era)" became the group's first song to reach No. 1 on Melon's TOP100, while "Delulu Pack" also charted internationally across platforms including Billboard Global Excl. U.S., Billboard Global 200, Billboard Japan, Oricon, and QQ Music.
The recognition comes ahead of KiiiKiii's scheduled mid-August comeback, with additional details expected to be announced through the group's official social media channels in the coming weeks.
