Jennie's Mystery Man Tease Turns Out to Be a Comeback Spoiler

BLACKPINK member and solo artist Jennie is releasing a new single that she has already tested on some of the world's biggest festival stages. Her agency, ODDATELIER, announced on July 21 that Jennie will release the single "Less than a Lover" on July 24 at 1 p.m. KST.

A teaser image released with the announcement shows Jennie gazing at a landscape through a truck window. According to her agency, she was involved in every layer of the project, from writing the lyrics and shaping the music to directing the music video.

"Less than a Lover" is built on lo-fi guitar and vintage electric keyboard. Before officially announcing the song, Jennie stirred curiosity by posting a photo with an unidentified man, leaning warmly on his shoulder while a heart-shaped sticker covered his face.

She has already given fans a preview of the track live. Jennie performed "Less than a Lover" at The Governors Ball Music Festival 2026 in the United States, Roskilde Festival in Denmark, Open'er Festival in Poland, and 2026 MAD COOL FESTIVAL in Spain.

More festival stops are on the way. Jennie is set to appear at Lollapalooza Chicago in the U.S. and SUMMER SONIC 2026 in Japan, where fans will be watching to see whether the new song makes it into her set.
