BTS Holds No. 1 on K-POPIT BOARD as Chile Concert Approval Lifts Fan Excitement
BTS is continuing its strong run on K-POPIT BOARD, with renewed excitement surrounding the group's upcoming South American tour helping keep its momentum high.
According to K-POPIT BOARD, the K-POP analytics index, BTS ranked No. 1 on the July 23 domestic chart with a Power Index (PWR_KR) score of 70.7. The group also climbed to No. 1 on the Global Rise chart with a Power Index (PWR_GL) score of 63.5.
The Power Index combines data from music charts, social media activity and news coverage to measure an artist's overall momentum. BTS has remained among the Top 3 throughout the week, reflecting sustained interest from both Korean and international audiences.
The group's detailed metrics reinforced that trend. BTS recorded a perfect 100.0 on the Media Attention Score (MAS), which measures media exposure and public interest based on Korean entertainment news coverage. It also posted a 266% increase in D-layer activity, suggesting conversations around the group are spreading beyond its core fanbase.
Much of the recent attention followed the Chilean government's decision to approve BTS' concerts at Estadio Nacional after initially rejecting the application over concerns about damage to the venue's grass field. Local promoter DG Medios revised the stage design and introduced additional measures to protect the stadium, clearing the way for the Oct. 14, 16 and 17 shows.
The news was met with widespread celebration from fans, who had spent weeks campaigning for the concerts through protests and online campaigns after the initial rejection. Posts congratulating Chilean ARMY quickly spread across social media, with many fans calling the approval a shared victory. The concerts will also make BTS the first Korean act to perform at Chile's national stadium.
The group has also stayed in the spotlight through new music. On July 17, BTS released the Korean-language and instrumental versions of "NORMAL," a track from its fifth full-length album "ARIRANG," along with its official music video. The song, which explores the emotions hidden behind life in the spotlight, has continued to draw attention following its live debut during the group's Busan concert.
With its South American tour set to begin in October and fan anticipation continuing to grow, BTS remains one of the strongest drivers of conversation across both Korean and global K-POP communities.
