Global girl group KATSEYE's upcoming single "Animal" will feature contributions from world-renowned singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran.According to multiple entertainment industry sources, Ed Sheeran is credited as a songwriter on the digital single, which is set for release on July 24.

"Animal" serves as the pre-release single for KATSEYE's third EP, "WILD," due out on Aug. 14. Built around a powerful beat, an addictive hook and bold lyrics, the track has already generated anticipation after snippets of both the song and its choreography were unveiled through the recently released music video teaser.

Since debuting last year, KATSEYE has continued its rapid global rise, most recently earning its first entry on the Billboard Hot 100 with "Gnarly."

Ed Sheeran is one of the world's most successful singer-songwriters, known for global hits including "Shape of You," "Perfect" and "Thinking Out Loud." He has also collaborated with HYBE before, contributing as a songwriter to BTS' "Permission to Dance" and "Make It Right." "Permission to Dance" topped the Billboard Hot 100 in 2021, further cementing Sheeran's track record of global hits.

The collaboration builds on a connection that began last year. Ed Sheeran publicly showed his support for KATSEYE by sharing "Gnarly" on his Instagram Story and calling it a "new jam." He later met the group at the 2025 NRJ Music Awards, with that relationship now culminating in his contribution to "Animal."
