SEVENTEEN's DK and Vernon Set Military Enlistment Dates

K-POP boy group SEVENTEEN members DK and Vernon have set their military enlistment dates, the group's agency confirmed. Pledis Entertainment announced the schedule on July 27, laying out how the two singers will fulfill South Korea's mandatory service requirement.

DK will enlist as an active-duty soldier in the army on September 8. He will continue with all scheduled official activities until his enlistment date. Pledis asked fans not to visit the training center on the day he reports for duty.

"The entry ceremony at the training camp is attended by many enlistees and their families, so we ask that fans refrain from visiting the site," the agency said.

Vernon begins his service on August 20. Like DK, he will keep his existing schedule intact until then. Pledis also asked fans to stay away from both the training camp entry ceremony and Vernon's alternative service workplace.

"DK and Vernon will continue to reach out to Carats through a variety of content they have prepared in advance," Pledis said, referring to the group's fandom by name. "We ask for your continued love and support so that DK and Vernon can complete their military service in good health and return even stronger. The company will spare no effort in supporting our artists."

Ahead of their enlistments, both Vernon and DK signed second contract renewals with Pledis Entertainment. That means every member of SEVENTEEN has now renewed with the agency for a second time, keeping the 13-member lineup intact for the group's next chapter.

DK and Vernon follow two other members already serving as active-duty soldiers, Hoshi and Woozi. Wonwoo is currently serving as a social service worker, an alternative to active duty. Jeonghan, who was the first member of the group to begin his service, was discharged from his social service role in June.

South Korea requires all able-bodied male citizens to complete roughly 18 to 21 months of military service, and K-pop artists are not exempt. For SEVENTEEN, staggering the members' enlistments allows the group to keep releasing music and content while each member takes his turn. With DK and Vernon now scheduled, the countdown to a full-group reunion has moved one step closer.
