ASTRO's MJ to Unveil New Song at First-Ever Solo Fan Meeting

ASTRO's MJ is stepping out on his own. The singer will release his first solo single, "Right..?," on August 19 at 6 p.m. KST across major music platforms.

On July 29, MJ unveiled a typographic poster that revealed the single's title for the first time. The image is styled as a phone notification screen filled with messages he might send to someone he likes. "What are you doing tomorrow?" "Want to see a movie?" "Want to grab coffee?" "How about around August of next year?" The stack of unanswered questions sets a light, hopeful mood built around waiting for a reply.

MJ also teased the comeback through a trailer preview shot in the format of a pre-interview. In the video, he appears with orange hair and thick-rimmed glasses. Asked to describe his job, he calls being a singer "a job where you can show off your personality and aim straight for the public's heart." He goes on to answer questions about his strengths, his last relationship, and his ideal type.

The release marks his first solo project delivered as a full single package. Before the song drops, MJ will hold his first solo fan meeting, "The Hangout," on August 1 at Seongsu Art Hall in Seoul's Seongdong district. Two shows are scheduled that day, at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. KST.

"I hope people who can really understand me come and watch," MJ said of the event. "I'm going to sing new songs too, so I think it'll feel even more special."

For MJ, the back-to-back rollout of a fan meeting and a first solo single signals a new chapter outside of group activity, one built on direct contact with fans before the music itself arrives.
