TWS Tops Oricon Daily Singles Chart With 'SODA SODA'
TWS has scored another milestone in Japan, debuting at No. 1 on Oricon's Daily Singles Ranking with its second Japanese single, "SODA SODA."
According to the latest chart released by Oricon on Aug. 4, the single sold 161,253 copies on its first day, immediately claiming the top spot. The opening-day figure also surpassed the first-week sales of the group's 2025 Japanese debut single "Nice to See You Again," highlighting TWS' rapidly growing popularity in the market.
The title track has also gained traction across digital platforms. "SODA SODA" entered Line Music's real-time Song Top 100 chart and climbed to No. 12 on its K-pop Top 100 ranking. Its music video, set against beaches and lush summer scenery, has drawn praise for capturing both the refreshing energy and nostalgic emotions of youth. The song's playful choreography has also spread online through a dance challenge joined by Japanese celebrities, including Kento Nakajima and members of CUTIE STREET.
Ahead of the release, TWS celebrated the new single with a public event at DiverCity Tokyo Plaza, performing "SODA SODA," "Nice to See You Again" and "Isn't It Cool to Follow Your Heart?" before a crowd of about 10,000 fans.
The group will continue promotions in Japan with appearances on Fuji TV's "STAR," the Mezamashi WANGAN Festival and Summer Sonic 2026, while also resuming its "24/7:FOR:YOU" Asia tour later this month.
