ILLIT Sets New First-Week Sales Record in Japan

ILLIT has reached a new milestone in Japan, with its second Japanese single becoming the group's best-selling release in its first week.

According to Oricon's latest Weekly Singles Ranking dated Aug. 10, "I Got Your Back" sold 71,009 copies during its opening week to debut at No. 4. The figure marks ILLIT's highest first-week sales for a Japanese release, reflecting the group's steadily growing popularity in the market.

The title track, "I Got Your Back (Feat. JISOO, MOMOKA of HANA)," has also performed strongly on streaming platforms. After topping AWA's real-time rising chart upon release, the song has continued to rank on major services including Line Music, Apple Music Japan and Spotify Japan.

Its music video has attracted attention as well, earning a place on YouTube's Weekly Trending Music Videos chart. The collaboration between ILLIT and HANA members JISOO and MOMOKA has been praised for its bright chemistry and energetic performance.

The group has remained active with local promotions, appearing on Fuji TV's "Mezamashi TV" and TBS' "CDTV Live! Live!" before joining CUTIE STREET for a special collaboration stage at the Mezamashi WANGAN Festival in Tokyo.

ILLIT will continue meeting Japanese fans through a release event at DiverCity Tokyo Plaza on Aug. 8 before performing at LuckyFes 2026 the following day.
