BTS Turns New York Into Citywide Celebration With 'THE CITY ARIRANG'
BTS extended its latest world tour beyond the concert stage, transforming landmarks across New York into fan destinations through "BTS THE CITY ARIRANG - NEW YORK."
Held alongside the group's concerts at MetLife Stadium, the citywide project brought BTS-themed experiences to Rockefeller Center, Grand Central Terminal, Times Square and the Korean Cultural Center New York, drawing not only fans but also tourists and local residents.
At Rockefeller Center's Top of the Rock, album visuals, BTS music and special performances took over parts of the observation deck. Local artists reinterpreted the group's songs through violin, vocals and dance against the Manhattan skyline.
Grand Central Terminal hosted a T-shirt customization experience and an exhibition of BTS stage outfits. The location carried added significance as the group returned to the site where it performed "ON" for "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" in 2020.
Times Square also became an impromptu performance space, with local dance crews staging BTS routines and a random play dance that attracted crowds of passersby. A themed sightseeing bus connected several participating locations, while the Korean Cultural Center offered additional interactive programs.
Following earlier editions in cities including Seoul, Las Vegas, Busan and London, the New York project once again expanded the BTS concert experience into the surrounding city, connecting music, local landmarks and fan participation.
