NCT WISH Earns First Platinum Certification in Japan
NCT WISH has earned its first Platinum certification in Japan as the group continues to build momentum in the country.
According to the Recording Industry Association of Japan on Aug. 10, NCT WISH's Japanese single "YO-I-DON! / BOY MEETS GIRL," released July 15, surpassed 250,000 cumulative shipments as of July, qualifying for Platinum status.
The milestone follows a strong start for the release across both physical and digital charts. "YO-I-DON! / BOY MEETS GIRL" topped Oricon's Daily Singles Ranking upon its release, while double title track "YO-I-DON!" reached No. 3 on Billboard Japan's Hot 100.
The two-track single pairs "YO-I-DON!," which captures the excitement and determination of racing toward a new beginning, with "BOY MEETS GIRL," NCT WISH's remake of Japanese group TRF's 1994 hit. Both tracks lean into the group's bright, refreshing sound for the summer season.
NCT WISH will continue its Japanese promotions with an appearance on TV Asahi's "Music Station" on Aug. 28, where the group is set to perform "BOY MEETS GIRL."
