K-pop boy group ENHYPEN says contract renewal talks with its agency have not yet begun. The group's leader, Jungwon, addressed the question at a press conference on Aug. 20 at the Mondrian Seoul Itaewon in Yongsan district, held to mark the release of the group's eighth EP, "THE SIN : BLISS."

ENHYPEN debuted in November 2020 under Belift Lab and has built a career around its own connected storyline across releases. The group is now entering its sixth year, a point when renewal discussions with a Korean label typically begin. Asked about that timing, Jungwon kept his answer brief. "Nothing specific is being discussed yet," he said. "We'll do our best to reach a good outcome."

The members also spoke about wanting to reach more of their fandom, known as ENGENE. "There are still a lot of places we haven't been," Jake said. "Wherever ENGENE is, we want to go and perform." He added that the group is aiming higher on global charts as well. "We're hoping for good results on the Billboard charts, too," he said.

The new EP is the second entry in the group's "THE SIN" series, which draws on the concept of sin as a storytelling motif. This chapter follows a pair of lovers who break a taboo, choose to run, and face the end of that journey together. The title track, "Bloody Paradise," is a Brazilian funk song that frames the couple's chase-and-escape as a kind of paradise, where the two see only each other even as danger closes in.

ENHYPEN's eighth EP, "THE SIN : BLISS," drops Aug. 21 at 1 p.m. KST.
