"Good News": BTS' Toronto Concert to Proceed as Scheduled Despite Bad Weather
TORONTO — BTS's Canadian tour stop in Toronto is running behind schedule after severe weather hit the outdoor venue. Earlier in the evening, local reports raised the possibility that the show could be heavily delayed or even canceled for safety reasons.
As of 8 p.m. local time on Sunday (9 a.m. KST), officials at Rogers Stadium in Toronto confirmed the concert would go ahead and began letting fans into the venue. A delay from the original start time is unavoidable, but the show will still take place despite the storm.
Inside the venue, a message on the stadium screens reads, "Good news, the show will go on as planned."
A heavy rain warning issued earlier by Environment Canada was lifted at 7:15 p.m. Forecasters, however, said downpours of 40 to 50 millimeters per hour could continue. Heavy rain was still falling around the stadium at press time, and strong rainfall is expected in the area for at least another hour.
