IU Announces New Digital Single for Sept. 10

Singer IU will return with a new digital single on Sept. 10, marking her first new release in a year.

EDAM Entertainment announced the comeback through a teaser posted to IU's official social media channels at midnight KST on Sept. 4. Designed to resemble a retro computer screen, the clip features a crescent moon, orbital imagery and a glowing sphere before revealing the release date.

The teaser has also drawn attention for its soundtrack. The same piece of music briefly appeared in a video titled "Star, Please Grant My Wish," uploaded to IU's official YouTube channel in late August, prompting speculation at the time that new music could be on the way.

The upcoming track arrives exactly one year after IU released her digital single "Bye, Summer" on Sept. 10, 2025. That song was released without advance notice as a surprise for fans.

Few other details about the new single, including its title, have been revealed so far.

IU's new digital single will be released Sept. 10 at 6 p.m. KST on streaming platforms.
