TWS Earns Platinum Certification in Japan With 'SODA SODA'

TWS has earned a Platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of Japan for its second Japanese single, "SODA SODA."

According to the RIAJ on Sept. 10, the single surpassed 250,000 cumulative shipments as of August, meeting the threshold for Platinum status. It marks TWS' second consecutive Japanese release to receive the certification, following its debut single, "Nice to see you again."

Released Aug. 4, "SODA SODA" also gave TWS its biggest first-week sales in Japan to date. The single sold 225,853 copies during its opening week after debuting at No. 1 on Oricon's Daily Singles Ranking. It also ranked near the top of Oricon's weekly singles chart and Billboard Japan's Top Singles Sales chart.

The milestone comes as TWS continues its activities in Japan. The group began the Japanese leg of its "24/7:FOR:YOU" tour in Fukuoka in August before continuing to Hyogo.

TWS will wrap up the tour with two concerts in Kanagawa on Sept. 12 and 13.
