IDID Marks First Anniversary Saying "It Was the Shortest Year of My Life"
IDID is celebrating one year since its official debut, reflecting on a first 12 months that included three releases, a music show win and their first fan concert.
The Starship Entertainment boy group consisting of Jang Yonghoon, Kim Minjae, Park Wonbin, Choo Youchan, Park Seonghyeon, Baek Junhyuk and Jeong Semin, marked their first anniversary on September 15, one year after releasing debut mini album "I did it."
Looking back, the members repeatedly returned to how quickly the year had passed.
"The past year living as Jang Yonghoon of IDID feels like a dream," Yonghoon said, adding that he is excited to continue creating memories with the group.
On the other hand, Junhyuk put it more simply saying, "It was the shortest year of my life."
IDID earned their first music show win 12 days after debut before returning two months later with digital single "PUSH BACK." The group followed with single album "FLY!" on May 27, bringing its first-year discography to three releases.
For Yonghoon, many of the group's "firsts" remain the clearest memories. He named IDID's debut, first music show appearance, first win and first fan concert among the moments that stood out most.
Youchan also selected the fan concert, explaining, "It was a space just for IDID and WITHID, so I don't think I'll ever forget it."
The members also pointed to changes in how they work together and approach the stage. Minjae named teamwork as the group's biggest area of growth, while Semin said he has become more comfortable looking beyond the cameras and interacting directly with audiences during performances.
As for what comes next, IDID hopes to broaden both its music and the role it can play for its fans. Yonghoon said he wants to experiment with more styles onstage, while Junhyuk said he hopes IDID's music can provide WITHID with the same comfort he has personally received through music.
Minjae also hinted at the group's next chapter, naming "a new beginning with a new album" as one of IDID's goals for the remainder of the year.
Yonghoon offered an even bigger goal: "Using everything we experienced over the past year, we want to rise once again and leave the name IDID behind in the world."
The members closed their anniversary messages by thanking WITHID for accompanying them through their first year.
"It feels like just yesterday that we said, ‘Let's be happy together for a long time,' right after our debut, but it has already been a year," Yonghoon said. "Thank you sincerely for filling that year with happy memories. Let's see each other more often and stay together for a long, long time."
IDID will next perform at SBS' Inkigayo Live in Tokyo at Belluna Dome in Saitama on September 22. The group is also scheduled to appear at the 2026 Asia Artist Awards in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, in December.
