Why Jang Won-young Is Loved by the Staff Who Work With Her

K-pop girl group IVE member Jang Won-young has once again drawn praise from staff members for her professional conduct on set.

On Sept. 15, a makeup artist who works with Jang posted a photo of her on social media. "Won-young, you finished two whole hours early today. You're the best," the staff member wrote.

Jang appeared to have completed her scheduled work ahead of time, allowing the staff to wrap up early as well. The post later spread across Korean online communities and brought renewed attention to another recent account from an industry worker.

"People who have worked in this field will understand, but working with Won-young is really easy," the person wrote under a video of the singer. "She finishes a three-hour shoot in 40 minutes and moves into position and poses before anyone even tells her to."

The industry worker also praised Jang's clear communication and ability to separate professional and personal matters. "More than anything, she expresses exactly what she wants, which makes her extremely easy to work with," the person wrote. "Jang Won-young is a master of 'yarikkiri.'"

"Yarikkiri" is Korean production slang for ending work once the day's assigned tasks have been completed, regardless of the scheduled working hours. The comment referred to Jang completing shoots quickly and accurately enough to shorten the crew's working time.

Another video recently highlighted Jang's awareness during a stage performance. When she made eye contact with a camera operator, she pointed toward Rei, who was next to sing, and also checked Liz's upcoming part.

The moment showed Jang keeping track of the overall performance and filming order, not only her own part. Together with the accounts from staff members, the clip drew attention to her professional conduct behind the scenes.
