XLOV Goes Gothic With a Striking New Look

K-pop group XLOV is leaning into a darker, more theatrical look for its next release. The four-member group recently shared concept photos for its third EP, "i=!," on its official social media channels.

The photos place members Umuti, Louis, Hyun, and Haru in front of a mother-of-pearl cabinet engraved with floral and tree motifs. The traditional Korean furniture, a staple of heritage interiors, is paired with all-black outfits and gothic-leaning styling for a moody, dreamlike effect.

Each member wears black from head to toe, finished with sharp eye makeup. Red and blue accents around the eyes, hair in black and pink, and metallic jewelry give every member a distinct look. The group members pose in close-up frames, lean against the cabinet, and sit facing the camera head-on, cycling through different expressions to carry the concept.

"i=!" arrives roughly five months after XLOV's second EP, "I, God," released in May. On that project, the group built its story around the chess concept of a pawn's promotion, framing the idea that even the weakest piece can transform into whatever it wants once it reaches the end of the board.

The new EP continues that storyline. Fans are watching to see how the group extends the "pawn's promotion" narrative through the title "i=!" and the new visuals.
