IVE Transforms Into 'Girl Heroes' Ahead of New Mini Album 'Looks Can Kill'
K-POP girl group IVE is leaning into a superhero concept for its next comeback. The group's agency, Starship Entertainment, posted a teaser video titled "POST CREDIT SCENE : GIRL HERO" to IVE's official social media channels on October 6.
The clip opens like a superhero film, with a credits sequence introducing each of the six members by hero alias. Jang Won-young is "Bat Pink," Leeseo is "Spider Red," Rei is "Jin Yellow," Gaeul is "Wonder Green," Liz is "Super Blue," and An Yu-jin is "Captain Purple."
The scene then cuts to Jang Won-young, who asks, "Did you check the schedule? Got a screenshot?" A more detailed version of the group's previously released promotion timeline flashes across the screen. "No, not that. Me," she adds, striking a pose.
An Yu-jin walks in with snacks in hand, telling the other members, "This? Post-credits scene." She then says, "I've got to get to the next set. See you there," before launching into the sky. The video follows her as she flies over a city, a desert, and snow-covered mountains, finally landing at a facility labeled "Hero IVE Training Center."
The new mini album, "Looks Can Kill," is built entirely around the "Girl Hero" concept. According to the previously released tracklist, the record features songs co-written by both Korean and international writers, as well as members Gaeul, Rei, and Liz.
IVE will release the title track "Looks Can Kill" on the 19th, with the full mini album of the same name arriving on the 26th.
