SHINee's TAEMIN Concert Cancellation Derails Seattle K-Culture Festival
SHINee's TAEMIN has canceled his upcoming concert in Seattle, leaving organizers of a Korean culture and shopping event with little choice but to postpone their plans until next year.
The singer was scheduled to perform at Climate Pledge Arena on Oct. 25 as part of K-ERA FEST. However, following the concert's cancellation, organizers also called off the event's public convention at Bell Harbor, originally set for Oct. 24 and 25, and rescheduled it for spring 2027.
The problem was attendance. Organizers had counted on TAEMIN's concert to bring fans to the event, with ticket holders offered free admission to the two-day convention. Without the concert, they said they could no longer guarantee participating brands the turnout and business opportunities they had been promised.
The event was expected to draw more than 20,000 visitors, with 31 Korean brands, including Jung Saem Mool, Nongshim and Jinro, and three Seattle-based businesses preparing to showcase more than 100 products, from cosmetics to food.
The news follows TAEMIN's decision last month to postpone his six-city U.S. tour due to visa delays affecting key production staff. The Seattle concert was organized separately from that tour and has been canceled rather than rescheduled.
All concert tickets will be refunded. Convention ticket holders can either request a refund or use their tickets for next year's event. Meanwhile, invitation-only events scheduled for Oct. 22 and 23 and business meetings on Oct. 23 and 24 will still go ahead.
