JYP's NMIXX Team Is Launching a Boy Group for the First Time
JYP Entertainment is preparing to introduce a new boy group, oftheblue, through its SQU4D division, which previously launched NMIXX.
The group is scheduled to debut in 2027, marking SQU4D's first boy group and its first new act since NMIXX debuted in February 2022.
On Nov. 6, SQU4D opened oftheblue's official social media accounts and released two teaser images, including a portrait featuring a QR code and a crossword puzzle containing the words "BLIND" and "BLUE."
The QR code leads to an interactive website featuring photographs and everyday sounds recorded by the members around Seoul.
Visitors can also create their own audio mixes using 18 sounds, including footsteps on sand, coins entering a vending machine and a car engine starting.
A photograph showing four figures from behind offers a possible glimpse of the group's lineup, although further member details have not been announced.
The name "oftheblue" comes from the expression "out of the blue," reflecting the idea of unexpected discoveries and the unpredictability of youth.
SQU4D, led by JYP executive Lee Ji-young, will continue introducing the group through teaser content ahead of its official debut next year.
