Stray Kids, Jennie and KATSEYE Take Center Stage at Governors Ball 2026
K-POP had its biggest presence yet at Governors Ball 2026, with Stray Kids and Jennie serving as headliners while KATSEYE drew one of the weekend's largest daytime crowds.
Held from June 5 to 7 at Flushing Meadows Corona Park in Queens, New York, the annual festival featured major names including Lorde, A$AP Rocky, Baby Keem and Kali Uchis. Still, much of the attention over the weekend centered on the K-POP acts, whose performances became some of the event's most talked-about moments.
The biggest milestone came from Stray Kids, who became the first K-POP group to headline Governors Ball in the festival's history. Despite weather-related delays earlier in the day, the eight-member group closed out Saturday night in front of a massive crowd. Opening with an explosive run of hits, Stray Kids delivered a high-energy set that showcased the group's signature mix of hip-hop, rock and EDM influences. Audience members filled the grounds with sing-alongs and chants as the group powered through songs such as "MANIAC," "God's Menu," "Chk Chk Boom" and "MIROH."
Jennie also reinforced her status as one of the most in-demand artists on the global festival circuit. As the final headliner of the Snapchat Stage, she delivered a roughly hour-long set that blended fan favorites with the live debut of unreleased songs. Despite stormy conditions throughout the weekend, thousands packed the stage area as she moved through a setlist spanning a range of genres and moods. The performance ended with "like JENNIE," prompting one of the festival's loudest sing-alongs and generating immediate buzz across social media.
Earlier in the weekend, KATSEYE delivered one of the festival's standout daytime performances. Long before the group took the stage, crowds had already gathered around the performance area, signaling the growing popularity of the group in the U.S. market. The members raced through a set packed with tracks including "PINKY UP," "Gabriela," "Gnarly" and "M.I.A," earning enthusiastic responses from fans who sang along to nearly every song.
The strong showing from all three acts reflected a broader shift that has been unfolding at Governors Ball over the past several years. In 2023, aespa became the first K-POP group to perform at the festival. A year later, P1Harmony became the first K-POP boy group on the lineup, followed by Wave to Earth in 2025. With Stray Kids and Jennie serving as headliners in 2026, K-POP has moved from a notable addition to a central part of the festival's identity.
Following recent appearances by Korean artists at Coachella, Lollapalooza and other major international events, Governors Ball 2026 served as another reminder that K-POP is no longer simply participating in the global festival scene but is increasingly helping shape it.
