CORTIS Ignites Gwanghwamun Square With World Cup Cheering Performance
K-POP group CORTIS helped fire up supporters at a public watch party for South Korea's 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying match against the Czech Republic on Friday.
The group was invited to perform at the "KT 2026 Cheering: Together for Victory" event held at Gwanghwamun Square, becoming the only K-POP act featured in the program organized by KT, the Korea Football Association and the Red Devils supporters group.
Dressed in red jerseys inspired by the national team's colors, the members took the stage with rock band Trans Fixion to perform the football anthem "For Victory." They also encouraged the crowd to join in chants and sing-alongs ahead of kickoff.
CORTIS later performed four songs, including debut title track "What You Want," B-side "GO!," and tracks from its second EP, "GREENGREEN," including title song "REDRED" and fan favorite "YOUNGCREATORCREW." Audience members joined in on the song's signature choreography, creating a festive atmosphere throughout the area.
The appearance comes amid a period of rapid growth for the group. Its second EP, "GREENGREEN," sold more than 2.31 million copies in its first week and reached No. 3 on the Billboard 200, while all seven North American stops on its first solo tour sold out.
