NCT WISH Releases Remake of J-pop Classic 'BOY MEETS GIRL'
K-POP group NCT WISH has released its new Japanese single "BOY MEETS GIRL," putting a youthful spin on one of Japan's best-known pop hits.
The song, one of the double title tracks from the upcoming single album "YO-I-DON! / BOY MEETS GIRL," was released through global music platforms alongside its music video. Originally recorded by Japanese group TRF in 1994, the remake blends the nostalgic warmth of the original with NCT WISH's bright sound, featuring energetic synth bass, house-inspired drums and a newly added rap section.
The music video captures the members enjoying carefree moments together, evoking the feeling of a summer vacation through colorful visuals and playful animations. The group's cheerful charm and upbeat atmosphere add a fresh twist to the classic song.
NCT WISH will physically release "YO-I-DON! / BOY MEETS GIRL" in Japan on July 15. Before that, the group is set to unveil the music video and digital release for the other title track, "YO-I-DON!," on July 13.
