Jeongyeon of TWICE Eyes Acting Debut Amid Agency Meeting
TWICE's Jeongyeon is moving deeper into acting, and her next steps are starting to take shape.
The singer has met with VARO Entertainment, the agency that represents her older sister, actress Gong Seung-yeon, and actor Byeon Woo-seok, the company confirmed on June 24.
A VARO Entertainment representative told K-POPIT that Jeongyeon and the agency had a meeting, but added that nothing has been decided yet regarding an exclusive contract.
The talks come as Jeongyeon prepares for her screen debut in the upcoming film "Shinbyung: The Movie" (Sinbyeong: The Movie), a feature-length version of the ENA drama series "Shinbyung". She is set to play a military nurse officer in the project.
Her shift toward acting has also raised questions about TWICE's future. JYP Entertainment said it is continuing discussions with Jeongyeon about renewing her contract, though no outcome has been announced. With several members weighing solo opportunities, fans are watching closely for signs of how the group's next chapter will look.
Jeongyeon is not the only TWICE member balancing music and acting. Dahyun has been building a parallel career on screen, most recently winning the Rising Star award at the 2026 Global OTT Awards for her role in the JTBC drama "Love Me." The ceremony was held on the 20th at the Roof Theater, an outdoor stage at the Busan Cinema Center in the Haeundae district, Busan.
