SEVENTEEN's V8 Surpasses 500,000 Sales With Debut EP
SEVENTEEN unit V8, consisting of The8 and Vernon, has surpassed 500,000 copies sold with its debut mini album, "V8."
According to Hanteo Chart, the album had sold 559,904 copies as of July 2, topping the daily physical album chart and reaching half-million seller status within days of its release.
The album has also performed well internationally. It rose from No. 5 to No. 4 on the Worldwide iTunes Albums chart a day after its release and has remained No. 1 on QQ Music's daily Digital Best-Selling Albums chart in China for three consecutive days. It also earned the platform's Platinum certification after exceeding 1 million yuan (about $140,000) in sales.
"V8" features collaborations with producers including Pharrell Williams, Mechatok, Kirara and Dylan Brady, blending the duo's style with a range of experimental sounds.
The title track, "singasong," debuted at No. 23 on Melon's Top 100 chart and has gained momentum online through its shuffle dance challenge. V8 is set to perform "singasong" and the B-side "rat race" on Mnet's "M Countdown" on July 2 before launching live shows in Goyang and Hong Kong later this month.
