BTS Ends European Leg of "ARIRANG" Tour After Drawing Nearly 720,000 Fans
BTS concluded the European leg of its "ARIRANG" world tour on July 18 with the second of two concerts at Stade de France in Paris, bringing the stadium run to a close after performances across five cities. French President Emmanuel Macron and First Lady Brigitte Macron also attended the July 17 concert.
The group performed 10 shows across Madrid, Brussels, London, Munich, and Paris, drawing a total of approximately 717,000 attendees. Every date sold out shortly after tickets went on sale. Throughout the tour, audiences joined in singing the Korean folk song "Arirang" and Korean lyrics, while many fans waved South Korean flags and attended the concerts wearing hanbok.
Paris marked a particularly meaningful stop in BTS' touring history. Each concert at Stade de France drew approximately 92,000 spectators, making it the largest single-show attendance of the group's career. The venue also served as the final stop of BTS' "LOVE YOURSELF: SPEAK YOURSELF" European tour in 2019, and the group returned to the same stadium seven years and one month later to close out the European leg of "ARIRANG."
Reflecting on the tour, the members shared that they were grateful for the support they received throughout Europe and became emotional while speaking to fans in Paris. Addressing the crowd in French, the group described Paris as "the city of fashion, cuisine and romance and the city with the best ARMY," adding that they hoped to return again.
The concerts also received positive reviews from local media. Le Parisien praised the performances as an energetic and expansive production, while Le Monde described BTS as the group that helped bring K-POP to the forefront of the global music industry, noting that the members appeared even more united and confident following their hiatus. Earlier in the tour, German newspaper Welt highlighted BTS as one of the world's most successful pop acts and a leading example of music transcending traditional Western cultural influence.
The European run also produced several venue milestones as BTS became the first Korean artist to perform at King Baudouin Stadium in Brussels and Allianz Arena in Munich. According to promoter Live Nation, the concerts at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London also set a new attendance record for a concert held at the venue.
Beyond the concerts themselves, the tour generated a measurable economic impact in several host cities. According to hospitality analytics company CoStar, Madrid's hotel industry recorded its highest-ever June Revenue per Available Room (RevPAR), with BTS' concerts identified as one of the major contributors to increased demand. Hotel occupancy reached 89.5% on the first day of the Madrid concerts.
In London, the accompanying "BTS THE CITY ARIRANG – LONDON" program transformed landmarks including the London Eye, the River Thames, and the British Museum into fan-focused destinations, extending the tour beyond the stadium and creating a citywide cultural event for fans, residents, and visitors alike.
