ILLIT Unveils Teaser for Japanese Single 'I Got Your Back'

ILLIT has offered fans a first glimpse of its upcoming Japanese comeback, releasing the music video teaser for new single "I Got Your Back."

The teaser, unveiled on the HYBE Labels YouTube channel on July 20, opens with the five members in school uniforms before taking an unexpected turn when a student's hand transforms into a monster, hinting at a fantasy-inspired storyline. The brief preview ends with the members reacting in shock, leaving the full narrative unrevealed.

It also features a snippet of the title track, a rock-influenced song driven by energetic drums, bass and the group's bright vocals. According to the agency, "I Got Your Back" delivers a message of reassurance to friends facing anxiety and pressure. Japanese singer-songwriter Yuika wrote the lyrics, while songwriter Kanata Okajima contributed to the composition.

The digital release of all tracks from the group's second Japanese single is scheduled for July 26, with the physical album arriving three days later.

Meanwhile, ILLIT will wrap up its "ILLIT LIVE 'PRESS START♥︎' in JAPAN" tour with concerts at Toyota Arena Tokyo on July 23 and July 25–26. The tour sold out across all five Japanese cities, prompting additional restricted-view and standing tickets to be released.
