Silica Gel Returns After Nearly Three Years With Third Full-Length Album
Korean indie rock band Silica Gel will return with its third full-length album, "Ballad of You," on Aug. 20, marking its first studio album in nearly three years.
The band announced the release date through its official social media channels on July 23, unveiling the album's cover art alongside the start of pre-save and pre-add campaigns across major streaming platforms including Spotify, Apple Music and YouTube Music.
The newly revealed artwork continues the visual direction introduced with the pre-release single "Molecular Gastronomy," featuring torn paper, ASCII-inspired graphics and bold red tape that hint at the album's distinctive aesthetic.
"Ballad of You" follows a series of releases, including "BIG VOID" and "Molecular Gastronomy," that expanded Silica Gel's experimental sound. The band has also previewed several unreleased songs during recent live performances, building anticipation for the full project.
Following the album's release, Silica Gel will headline its largest solo concerts to date at Seoul's KSPO DOME on Sept. 26 and 27. The performances will launch the band's first Asia tour, which is scheduled to continue in Taiwan, Hong Kong and Japan later this year.
