KiiiKiii Puts Its Own Spin on Summer With 'WhyKiiiKiii'

KiiiKiii is bringing its own spin to summer with the release of its third mini album, "WhyKiiiKiii," on Aug. 10.

Inspired in part by the vacation destination Waikiki, the six-track EP plays on the question of "why KiiiKiii?" while exploring a broader range of sounds and concepts. The album includes the title track "Pop Off Pop Off," alongside "Ever2Late!," "Hey Hi," "SWEET SOUR," "Candy Pink Magic Hole Flip Phone" and "Blue Hour."

"Pop Off Pop Off" is an electronic synth-pop track driven by bold synths, a punchy beat and a repetitive chorus. Its playful lyrics draw on images of scorching summer heat and sandcastles, pairing the seasonal theme with the group's offbeat sense of humor.

The performance builds on that energy with brisk footwork and easy-to-recognize point choreography, including movements that cross and extend the arms and legs.

"WhyKiiiKiii" follows the group's second mini album, "Delulu Pack," released in January, and marks another step in KiiiKiii's growing catalog as the group experiments with electronic pop, hyperpop and synth-pop.
