Former NewJeans Member Danielle Starts "New Adventure" in Australia
Former NewJeans member Danielle has launched a personal YouTube channel with a video filmed in Australia. Her first upload, titled "Detour," was posted on Sept. 3.
The video shows Danielle speaking to the camera against the backdrop of the Australian landscape. "As you can see, I'm in Australia," she said. "It feels a little awkward being alone right now, but I'll just go with it."
Danielle spoke about how much she had missed home. "I really, really missed my hometown. The nature, the ocean, and of course my family," she said. "So the first thing I decided to do was spend some precious time with my family back home."
After returning to her hometown of Newcastle, Danielle visited the city center and the beach and went swimming. "I ate a lot of home-cooked meals with my family and had a really happy time," she said.
She is now preparing to travel alone. "I'm starting a new adventure of my own. I'm really excited. I don't know what will happen or where I'll end up," she said. "The one thing I know for sure is that I'm going on my first solo trip."
Danielle said Brisbane and Cairns would be her first destinations.
The upload marks the first time Danielle has shared her daily life through her own YouTube channel. It comes as she remains in a legal dispute with ADOR, the agency behind NewJeans.
The NewJeans members declared the termination of their exclusive contracts with ADOR in November 2024. In October last year, a trial court ruled in ADOR's favor in the agency's lawsuit seeking confirmation that the contracts remained valid.
Haerin, Hyein and Hanni have since returned to ADOR, while Minji remains in discussions with the agency over the terms of her possible return. ADOR notified Danielle last December that it had terminated her exclusive contract.
The agency subsequently filed a lawsuit against Danielle, one of her family members and former ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin. ADOR is seeking contractual penalties and damages from Danielle and damages from the other two defendants. The total amount sought was initially about 43.09 billion won but was later reduced to approximately 33.09 billion won.
