Stray Kids Makes Rock in Rio History in Front of 100,000 Fans
Stray Kids made its Rock in Rio debut as the festival's first K-POP headliner, performing for a crowd of 100,000 in Brazil.
The group closed out the Sept. 11 festival at Rio de Janeiro's Olympic Park with a nearly two-hour set spanning hits including "MANIAC," "God's Menu," "Chk Chk Boom," "LALALALA" and "S-Class," alongside newer tracks "This & That," "After You" and "RUN IT."
The performance also marked a first for Rock in Rio. The festival, which began in 1985, allowed fans to bring official light sticks into the venue for the first time, filling the crowd with Stray Kids' signature Nachimbong lights.
The members added local touches throughout the night, including an a cappella rendition of Brazilian singer Michel Teló's "Ai Se Eu Te Pego." They also moved closer to the audience during the set and added "Hall of Fame" as an impromptu encore.
Stray Kids will continue its Latin American run through "STRAYCITY," its new headlining festival, with upcoming dates in Buenos Aires and Mexico City.
