Wendy and fromis_9's Agency Warns Against Privacy Violations
ASND, the agency representing Red Velvet member and solo artist Wendy and girl group fromis_9, has warned against conduct that threatens its artists' safety or infringes on their privacy. The company said such behavior may lead to legal action.
ASND released the statement through its official channels on Sept. 16. "Recently, there have been cases that threaten our artists' safety or infringe on their privacy," the agency said, adding that the notice was intended to protect its artists' safety and rights and promote a healthy fan culture.
The agency asked people not to approach artists or moving vehicles excessively to deliver letters and gifts. It also warned against stepping into the road, blocking vehicles or engaging in any other conduct that could endanger artists or others nearby.
ASND also addressed invasions of privacy. The company cited unauthorized access to artists' private spaces, intrusion into their personal schedules and the illegal acquisition, purchase or sale of their personal information.
Loitering or remaining near the company building for extended periods, as well as trespassing, is also prohibited. "For safety reasons, we ask for your understanding that individuals may be stopped depending on the situation at the scene," ASND said. "Please refer to each artist's official notices regarding the delivery of letters and gifts."
The company also outlined the possibility of legal action. "We may take legal action in accordance with relevant laws against anyone who illegally uses our artists' personal information or violates their privacy," it said.
The warning also applies to conduct around the agency's office. "Our company is a workplace where artist-related business is conducted. Continuously loitering or remaining near the building, as well as trespassing, may also be subject to legal action," ASND said.
The agency added that it would "continue doing our best to protect our artists' safety and rights."
