ZEROBASEONE's Seok Matthew and Park Gunwook Form First Unit EMP

ZEROBASEONE members Seok Matthew and Park Gunwook are teaming up as EMP, the group's first official unit.

The pair announced the new unit through ZEROBASEONE's official social media accounts on Sept. 18, unveiling an EMP logo with a rough, textured design. Their first mixtape is set to arrive later this week.

The name EMP draws from "Electromagnetic Pulse," reflecting the idea of creating a space where outside noise disappears and only Matthew and Gunwook's music remains. It also carries a second meaning, "Extra MTT PGW," combining shortened versions of the two members' names with "Extra" to represent going beyond the ordinary.

The project will give Matthew and Gunwook a chance to explore their own musical direction outside ZEROBASEONE's full-group releases. The two members have been working on music ahead of the unit's launch and are directly involved in producing EMP's material.

EMP's first mixtape will be released Sept. 21 at 6 p.m. KST, marking the beginning of the duo's activities as ZEROBASEONE's first unit.
