BOYNEXTDOOR Hasn't Left Global Top 3 Since 'ANIMAL' Dropped
BOYNEXTDOOR has remained near the top of the K-POPIT BOARD's global momentum rankings since returning with its latest single, "ANIMAL."
According to K-POPIT BOARD, the K-POP analytics index, BOYNEXTDOOR ranked No. 2 on the Oct. 1 Global Rise chart with a Power Index (PWR_GL) score of 61.8. The group has remained within the chart's top three every day since releasing its first full-length album repackage, "HOME: DELUXE," on Sept. 28.
BOYNEXTDOOR also recorded a Momentum Score (MOM) of 71.0, while its Viral Conversion Rate (VCR), which tracks how effectively YouTube attention converts into Spotify streaming activity, reached 100.0. Its Media Attention Score (MAS) stood at 49.2, while its D-layer index increased 7.1 percent.
The numbers arrive alongside a comeback built heavily around performance and audience participation. "ANIMAL" is an electro-funk track that compares the drive to keep moving toward one's goals to the instinctive energy of an animal. Members Jaehyun, Taesan and Woonhak participated in writing the song, alongside Zico and other contributors.
One of its most recognizable elements, the repeated "hoo hoo hoo" chant, also has roots in BOYNEXTDOOR's live performances. The idea developed from crowd interactions during the group's U.S. shows, bringing an element of its concert experience into the recording.
That performance focus has also carried over to short-form platforms. By the morning of Oct. 1, approximately 17,000 TikTok videos had been posted using "ANIMAL," while the track reached No. 20 on Instagram Reels' trending audio chart. Its choreography, co-created by member Riwoo and built around movements inspired by animals, has given the song another point of engagement through dance challenges.
The activity comes as BOYNEXTDOOR enters its first week of music show promotions for "ANIMAL," beginning with Mnet's "M Countdown" on Oct. 1.
Having remained within the Global Rise top three since release day, the group's latest K-POPIT BOARD figures indicate that attention around the comeback has continued beyond its initial release-day surge, with activity spanning streaming, short-form content and other online platforms.
